My ski portfolio outside the Alps is a little thin! I will build it up in the coming years but for now this gallery is limited to 2 shots ski mountaineering in Scotland (near Glenshee) and one of a snowboarder in the Peak District (near Chapel-en-le-Frith). This was the first time I had ever seen anyone snowboarding in the Peak District!

Snowboarder in the Peak District~Peak District~Taken near the top of Ladder Hill above the village of Combs in the Peak District (the iron age hill fort of Castle Naze is top right). The lone snowboarder was practising in recent snow. The snowboarder is quite small in the frame since this is such an unusual sight I wanted to show the surroundings; a close-up of the snowboarder could have been taken at any ski resort. Taken November 2005, Mamiya 6, 150 mm lens. Ilford FP4+ 120 6 x 6 cm negative.~Mounted 40 x 30 cm|271308|Mounted 50 x 40 cm|271308|~977~983~~
Ski Touring near Glenshee~Scotland~Taken near Carn a' Gheordh, Glenshee. The usual patchy snow cover makes ski touring in Scotland quite variable. Good runs are few and far between. Taken January 1991, Mamiya 645 Super, 45 mm lens. Ilford FP4 120 6 x 4.5 cm negative.~Mounted 40 x 30 cm|082612|Mounted 50 x 40 cm|082612|~977~2407~~
Ski Touring in Scotland #2~Scotland~Taken near Carn a' Gheordh, Glenshee. The usual patchy snow cover makes ski touring in Scotland quite variable. Carrying skis strapped to the rucsac for quite a distance is often required, as shown here by my wife Jan! Taken January 1991, Mamiya 645 Super, 45 mm lens. Ilford FP4 120 6 x 4.5 cm negative.~Mounted 40 x 30 cm|082605|Mounted 50 x 40 cm|082605|~977~2408~~
