Dave Butcher has over 30 Years experience of making high quality photographs, using traditional darkroom methods and materials. Working exclusively in black and white to produce stunning landscapes and striking city shots his work is widely published in books and magazines and he is the author of the books 'High Light - the Landscape Photography of Dave Butcher' and 'Peak Light - The Peak District Photography of Dave Butcher'. Images are also used for advertising and PR, and original prints used for interior design in businesses and homes and are displayed in many private collections worldwide.
When you buy black and white photographs, with archival life, from this web site you are buying directly from me, Dave Butcher. I take all the pictures using Ilford film and hand print all the photographs in my darkroom. My photographs are made in limited numbers to keep them exclusive and collectable. Unmounted Photographs (supplied in postal tubes - your local framing shop will be able to mount and frame for you). This option gives you the greatest choice in mounting and framing.Mounted Photographs with a white window mount/matt - ready to drop in to a standard size ready made frame that you buy locally - The only other thing you will need is a picture hook on your wall! This is usually the most cost effective option for you when buying by mail order.All original display photographs are signed and titled.
A few select images are also available as open edition fine art posters. These are printed by International Graphics Walmsley GmbH. They are reasonably priced because they are not individually hand printed; a typical print run being between 500 and 1000 copies. They are mostly in sizes larger than I can reasonably print so it's a good way to buy prints up to 1 metre long.

I can also supply Framed Black and White Photographs from my gallery in the Peak District and through Shows and other Events that I do through the year across the UK. At the moment I do not sell framed work by mail order because of the risk of broken glass.
